Trout Rock Lodge Retreat Autumn Itinerary
The Rock Island Retreat is available in the autumn (Aug. 15 - Oct. 15) . Located 45 kilometres from Yellowknife, you’ll be transported to Trout Rock Wilderness Lodge by floatplane in the autumn.
Day 1:
- Arrive in Yellowknife – Guide meets you at airport, transferring you via shuttle to hotel
- Yellowknife City Tour (Excursion) (embed link to detailed description of the specific activity)
- Transported to Trout Rock Lodge via floatplane (12 minute flight time)
- Dinner at Trout Rock Lodge
- Northern Lights’ viewing at Trout Rock Lodge
Day 2:
- Breakfast at Trout Rock Lodge
- Day Activities, including Great Slave Lake boat trip (link to that activity), onshore fishing and berry picking. Smash the berries you pick, turn them into jam and eat with lunch on the lakeshore directly afterwards
- Dinner at Trout Rock Lodge
- Northern Lights’ Viewing: Cap off the fun-filled day by viewing aurora borealis just steps from the comfort of your cabin. Enjoy the spectacle from the Lodge Deck, an excellent place for an unobstructed 360° view.
Day 3:
- Breakfast at the Lodge
- Day Activities, including a half-day Enodah Island Tour, lunch at the Lodge, followed by a free afternoon when you might decide to relax in the outdoor hot tub or try your hand at some fishing from the shore of Great Slave Lake.
- Dinner at Trout Rock Lodge
- Enodah Island Tour – a half-day hike of Enodah Island will free your spirit and mind. You’ll have the chance to learn about the island’s history and heritage while appreciating the magnificent surrounding scenery and wildlife.
- Dinner at the Lodge Dinner at the Lodge
- Northern Lights’ Viewing: Stay close to the cabin so you can enjoy aurora borealis from the comfort of your temporary home!
Day 4:
- Breakfast at the Lodge
- Depart Lodge, taken back to Yellowknife via 12-minute floatplane journey, replete with stunning bird’s eye views of Great Slave Lake, putting it’s immense size into perspective
- Transfer back to the hotel
- Deluxe Coach Aurora Viewing: Kick back and relax while a deluxe coach takes you to numerous serene lakes (embed link of detailed activity listing). You’ll forever remember the stunning, crystal-clear reflections off the exceptionally still lakes.
Day 5:
- Breakfast in hotel
- Depart for airport
